3 Killer Tips for Blogging Regularly When You Dont Have Time

3 Killer Tips for Blogging Regularly When You Don’t Have Time As a working professional, you have a heck of a lot of responsibilities to deal with on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis.  Even if you love blogging, finding the time to write and publish regularly can be a major challenge.  Fortunately, it’s not impossible to start a blog and write consistently even if you’re short on time. In order to do so, however, you’ll need to find ways to maximize efficiency.  To help you with this, here is a look at a few killer tips for blogging regularly when you don’t have time. #1 â€" Develop a Daily Writing Habit If you want to maintain a successful blog, you’ll  need to be able to produce great content  consistently.  But, as overwhelming as it sounds to write  a few posts per week, it’s not  as difficult as it seems. Think about how long it takes you to write 300 words.  10 minutes? 20 minutes? 30 minutes?  Now think about your daily routines and how much free time you generally have. For most working professionals, this number will hover around 1-2 hours. If you were able to commit 20 minutes of your free time every day,  do you think you’d have trouble producing 2,000 words per week? If you  develop a daily writing habit, it’s a pretty safe bet that most people would answer no.  And that 2,000 words, once edited, could easily be broken down into two 1,000 word posts that are ready to be published.  Even some of the top bloggers in the world don’t publish long form articles at that rate. And that can all be done in about 3-4 hours per week. #2 â€" Establish an Efficient Editing Process While it may not take long to write your content, editing it is a different story.  Because of this, it’s absolutely imperative that you work to establish an efficient editing process. While there are certain things, such as removing unnecessary words and spelling/grammar issues, that are universally accepted editing best practices, most of the process will come down to personal preference. As time goes on, it’s important that you continually look to improve upon your editing process to ensure that it is as effective and efficient as possible. #3 â€" Utilize Trusted Tools and Resources There is a massive amount of content that is created daily. But because of the popularity of blogging, there have been many tools and resources created to help bloggers maximize efficiency. If you want to blog efficiently and productively, it’s obviously in your best interest to take advantage of these tools and resources.  Take some time when you first get started with your blog to experiment with some tools that you feel would be useful.  It may also be a good idea to scour the web for   blogs that can serve as solid resources. You can build a successful blog without dedicating dozens of hours per week to doing so. You can do it by developing a writing habit, establishing an efficient editing process, and utilizing trusted tools and resources. Images: Blogging  Sean MacEntee  Main  Amy Gahran
